Kaiser Redwood City Earns Top Patient Safety Grade

Kaiser Permanente Redwood City hospital has been awarded an 'A' grade for patient safety by The Leapfrog Group in its spring 2026 ratings. - The nonprofit evaluates nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide twice a year based on patient injuries, medical errors, medication errors, and infections.

- Nine Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Northern California received A grades, including Redwood City, Fresno, Manteca, Modesto, San Leandro, San Rafael, South Sacramento, South San Francisco, and Vacaville. - Nationally, 23 of Kaiser Permanente's 40 hospitals earned an A grade.

Shasta Addessi, Kaiser Permanente San Mateo service area senior vice president and area manager, emphasized that patient safety is always top of mind as they provide high-quality care.
