The IAEA board passed a resolution demanding Iran fully cooperate on its nuclear program, provide information on its near weapons-grade uranium stockpile, and grant access to nuclear sites. The resolution was approved by 21 of 35 board members, with Russia, China, and Niger opposing.
It comes amid escalating Middle East tensions following U.S. airstrikes against Iran and Iranian retaliatory strikes.
Iran has denied IAEA access to sites affected by June 2025 bombings. The resolution stops short of referring Iran to the U.N.
Security Council but leaves that option open.
