Khaled al-Aydi, a Palestinian refugee with Ukrainian citizenship, escaped Hezbollah detention in March 2026 and fled to the Ukrainian Embassy in Beirut. He is accused of being part of an Israeli spy plot to carry out bombings and assassinations.
