A 32-year-old Oakland man has been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter after a May 11 crash in San Leandro that killed Andrea Sanchez, a beloved cafeteria worker at Corvallis Elementary School and mother of three. - The suspect, Chuliao Wu, was driving a Mercedes at over 60 mph in a 25 mph zone when he struck Sanchez's Kia.

- Wu fled the scene on foot but was later identified and arrested on May 27. - Sanchez, known as "Chef Andrea," was remembered by the school community as a bright light and source of joy.

Wu remains in custody with $125,000 bail and is due in court on June 8.
