Five Dead, One Critical in Santa Maria Crash; Three Victims Were High School Students

A high-speed crash in Santa Maria early Saturday morning killed five young people and left one in critical condition. Three of the victims were students at local high schools.

- The crash occurred at South Broadway and Miller Street around 1:40 a.m. on June 7, 2026.

- Four died at the scene; two were hospitalized, one later died, and one remains critical. - Three victims were students at Pioneer Valley High School, Santa Maria High School, and Delta High School.

- Alcohol and high speed are being investigated as possible factors. The community is mourning as counseling services are offered at schools.
