F/A-18 from USS Abraham Lincoln Disables Tanker Evading Iran Blockade

A U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet from the USS Abraham Lincoln disabled the tanker M/T Marivex in the Gulf of Oman after it ignored warnings to stop.

- The tanker was attempting to evade the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports.

- A precision munition was fired into the ship's engineering and steering spaces. - This is the seventh ship disabled since the blockade began on April 13.

- 134 ships have complied with the blockade and been redirected. The USS Abraham Lincoln remains in the region as negotiations with Iran continue.
