07 May 2026 12:30

A federal judge has unsealed a note purportedly written by Jeffrey Epstein in prison in July 2019, following a suspected suicide attempt. The note, found by his cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione, reads in part: "It is a treat to be able to choose one's time to say goodbye." - The note has not been authenticated by the Department of Justice or independent experts.

- Tartaglione's lawyer believes it is genuine but has not conducted handwriting analysis. - The judge gave parties one week to propose redactions to three other related documents.

The release adds to ongoing investigations into Epstein's death and the federal government's handling of the case.
