East Palo Alto Man Sentenced to 17 Years for $2 Million Burglary Spree

A 27-year-old East Palo Alto man was sentenced to 17 years and four months for a series of 57 residential burglaries that netted nearly $2 million in stolen goods across the San Francisco Peninsula. - Francisco Antonio Cruz Ramirez pleaded no contest to 13 counts of felony residential burglary and admitted to a violent felony enhancement on eight counts.

- The burglaries occurred between September 2018 and May 2019, targeting homes in multiple cities including South San Francisco, Belmont, and Burlingame. - Cruz Ramirez's brother, Raul Ramirez Cruz, was also involved and received a two-year sentence for felony accessory.

- The brothers stole over 100 firearms and broke into five occupied homes, typically by breaking sliding glass doors. The sentence was handed down by San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Sean P.

Dabel, and Cruz Ramirez remains in custody on $2,850,000 bail pending a restitution hearing on July 8.
