ChicoSTART has awarded 30 microgrants to small businesses in Northern California, each up to $5,000. The grants target underserved communities, including rural areas and businesses owned by women, veterans, and people of color.
Recipients range from a bakery in Chico to a mobile health clinic in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The program aims to strengthen the regional economy and will open a second round of applications later this year.
