Carlsbad Man Charged in Hate Crime Assault Near LA Synagogue

A Carlsbad man has been charged with a hate crime for an assault near a Los Angeles synagogue. In a related incident, three men died protecting a San Diego mosque.

- Mansour Kaziha, Nader Awad, and Amin Abdullah were fatally shot at the Islamic Center of San Diego. - The suspects, two teenagers, fled and later died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

- Police and FBI are investigating both incidents as hate crimes. The community mourns the loss of the three heroes and plans an interfaith vigil.
