California lawmakers are advancing a $356 billion budget that delays many of Governor Newsom's proposed cuts. Key points include: Delaying healthcare cuts for undocumented immigrants and rejecting asset tests for seniors.

Adding 22,000 child care slots and restoring $2.7 billion for schools. Allocating $900 million for homelessness, $400 million more than Newsom.

Supporting new taxes on software and corporate tax credits. The budget must be finalized by July 1, with negotiations ongoing.
