CAL FIRE has suspended residential burn permits in four California counties due to elevated fire risk. - Suspension effective June 15, 2026, at 8 a.m.

- Bans outdoor burning of landscape debris like branches and leaves. - Since January 1, 2026, there have been 31,489 fires statewide, up 6,660 from 2025.

- Residents urged to maintain defensible space and prepare for evacuation. The department may issue restricted permits for essential public health or safety reasons, and agricultural or industrial burns may proceed with special permits.
