Sable Lounge, a new neighborhood bar in Oakland, opened in late April on Grand Avenue, created by bar industry veterans Chris Woodcoff and Tinah Bean. The bar focuses on rum and mezcal, offering simple yet tasty cocktails at $13 each.

- The bar features a pool table, board games, and a D&D group meeting on Thursdays. - The name 'Sable' was chosen for its meaning of dark and moody, and the logo features a weasel.

- The owners plan to add an outdoor parklet, entertainment permits for DJs and bands, and expand hours. Sable Lounge aims to be a warm, inviting space for the neighborhood, welcoming dogs and encouraging outside food.
