Alameda Marina Seeks Affordable Housing Reduction

18 May 2026 09:42

The Alameda Planning Board will consider a proposal to reduce affordable housing requirements at the Alameda Marina's Phase III to help secure financing and meet state housing goals. - The amendment would lower deed-restricted units from 43 to 21 very low-income units in a 259-unit building.

- Phase III, called The Foundry, has stalled due to economic conditions and local requirements. - The project is key to Alameda's state-mandated housing target of 5,353 units by 2031.

- The meeting is on May 26 at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers, with public participation options.
