Aftershocks Hamper Philippine Earthquake Rescue Efforts as Death Toll Reaches 45

A powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake in the southern Philippines has killed at least 45 people and displaced over 25,000. Rescue efforts are being hampered by more than 2,100 aftershocks.

- At least 45 dead, 17 missing, and 630 injured. - Over 25,000 people displaced, many in government shelters.

- More than 2,100 aftershocks, including some up to 6.4 magnitude. - Damage includes 3,100 houses, 29 roads, 11 bridges, and 100 government buildings.
