11-Seed Livermore Cowboys Win NCS Baseball Championship in Dramatic Fashion

The Livermore High baseball team, seeded 11th in the NCS Division IV playoffs, won the championship with an 8-7 victory over Newark Memorial. The Cowboys, who went 6-18 in the regular season, used a two-run homer by Nico Rodriguez in the seventh inning to take the lead and a game-saving throw by freshman Jack Wilhite to seal the win.
