11 Candidates Qualify for CD14 Special Primary

Eleven candidates have qualified for the special primary election in Congressional District 14, which includes Castro Valley and other Alameda County communities. - The special primary is June 16; if no candidate gets over 50%, a runoff will be held in August.

- The winner will serve the remainder of the term ending January 2027. - Candidates include six Democrats, four Republicans, and one no-party-preference candidate.

- A separate full-term election for the same district will also take place under new boundaries. The election will determine representation for parts of Alameda County until the next full term begins.
